Your humble value investor is very much alive and well and taking a long break from online publishing (but not from taking care of a portfolio).
I’d expect that the publishing schedule will resume in earnest in September (yes a long break I know but I deserve it!).
I don’t really do ‘macro’ that much because it has little bearing on how I choose which stocks to buy but the whole Greece thing is the most shambolic episode on the the Euro’s history.
I mean how can Greece hold a referendum rejecting EU demands and then accept their demands just a few days later?
It appears that The EU are willing to do whatever it takes to maintain the failure that is The Euro and surely in the end it will result in a catastrophic failure for the people of Europe.
I feel sorry for the people of Greece who have been and continue to be royally shafted by the unelected ex-communists that run The EU.
Interesting that Greece was wooing Putin in regard to a building a gas pipeline through it’s territory recently.
All politicians are scoundrels to me and are at the mercy of central bank dictates just like the rest of us.
My portfolio has been holding up well throughout all of this mess but that’s a function of the value approach rather than any particular skill in individual stock picking; valuing the underlying business has been a far more profitable endeavour for me than any other.
For more a recent example of what I do and how I do it here’s a quick case study:
Until next time.
